Green Fools- Circus Monday Dec 16-19

Next Monday the Green Fools will be here to share their Cirucs Arts with you!!!  If you are interested in trying stilts and unicyles, please remember to bring your helmet and other protective equipment if needed such as elbow or knee pads. Basketball Tryouts January - Camp for December with the SUNS ACADEMY

School Season Prep Camps SOUTH & NORTH Fundamental & Advanced Skills Development for players in grades 7 – 10


3 days – Thursday through Saturday, January 2 - 4 South sessions at Trinity Christian School (295 Midpark Way SE)

Separate Boys & Girls training sessions with BOYS on court mornings from 9:00am – 12:00pm while GIRLS are on court afternoons from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.

"This camp program is specifically designed to get players ready for school team tryouts which occur in early January in most public and separate and schools. This week we will be outside for our Lacrosse Unit. If the weather is rainy or too wet we will be in the Aux Gym with Low Organized Handball Games.

Ultimate Frisbee

Hi Grade 7,

If you would like to purchase Gym Strip, please bring your money to PE class on Mon-Wed and get your gym strip from Mark's room (the artist) at the beginning of PE class. Tshirts are $10 and shorts are $15.

This week we will be participating in Ultimate Frisbee.

Please be ready to go outdoors unless it is raining and then we will be in the Aux Gym.

Terry Fox 'Toonie 4 Terry" Will be this Wednesday Sept 25th in PE class.

All Sport- Free opportunity to try new and exciting sports in Calgary

Hello,
On behalf of Sport Calgary, I would like to invite you and your students to take part in All Sport One Day.
On June 15, 2019All Sport One Day offers free, no-pressure discovery sport and fitness classes for children and youth age 6 to 17.
From Aikido to Zumba, via Combat ArcheryBroomballCricketFencing or QuidditchSpeed Skating, or even Sailing, we are confident that kids and youth in your life will find an activity to try. You can also try para sports such as wheelchair basketballPara Karate, or Adaptive Cycling.
Every session is FREE, with no other commitment than to have fun and be active.

Track and Field Unit

Hi Grade 7,

This week is our annual track and field unit.

All students should have signed up for 3 events of your choice. Students are responsible for attending  all 3 events, bringing enough food and water, appropriate clothing for athletics, sunscreen and hat or a pop up tent if you wish, to protect yourself from the sun (fingers crossed).  If you are unable to participate due to injury or an excused reason, we ask that you help out with the organization of the day in supporting staff with events. Please be responsible for all personal items that you may require on the day.
Students in grade 7-9 have the option to go off campus as usual and check back in for attendance with your homeroom teacher at the end of lunch.  Your homeroom teacher will designate a meeting place for afternoon attendance to take place.
Students who are staying on campus can purchase farmer sausage on a bun for $3.00 and a small smoothie for $1.00.

Grade 7 leadership students will also be selling snacks and drinks to raise money tin support of a school Water Bottle Re-fill Station.

Please bring your positive school spirit and we wish each of you luck in reaching your goals.

Tchoukball & Fitness

Hi Grade 7,

Short week due to Teacher's Convention.

We will meet in the Aux Gym for Fitness and more exciting Tchoukball.

Learning Intentions:

-Transition defense to offense
-Coverage
-Shooting, passing, receiving a ball
-Fitness as a stress buster-Healthy Coping Strategies
-We are all strong
-How does your heart react?
-Technique matters in strength.
-Which muscles are the primary muscles used in squat? Pushups? Plank?
-Where are the toes in your squat? Angle of hip (lead back with hip), counter balance of arms to gluteals back.
-Can sitting cross legged on the floor be healthy?  Why? Why not?
